HOW TO CLEAN INSIDE OVENS

It is super easy to put off the task of cleaning your oven. Just close the door and forget about it. However, it will surely turn your oven into the culinary crime scene within little to no time. Though it is not a wise thing to do, most homeowners do not muster up the courage to clean inside ovens until they are amassed with the hard-baked grime and grease. But the good news is that deep cleaning of this all-important kitchen appliance is not as overwhelming. We have put together a list of instructions that will get the job done for you.

Remember, the tips enlisted below are the byproduct of comprehensive research and interviews of top-notch home cleaning service providers. Therefore, you can completely count on them regardless of how pathetic your oven may look from inside:

1. Read The Manual

If you are all set to embark on an intense cleaning session, it is a good idea to read the manual. That way, you can get a better aerial view and clean the oven more effectively. For example, there are several leading brands that strictly prohibit consumers from applying specific products.

In case you do not have the manual, conduct online research about the respective model. You are sure to find required information with little to no heel-dragging.

2. Empty The Oven

This is a no-brainer. According to home cleaning serviceprofessionals, the first pre-requisite of deep cleaning your oven is to remove everything out of the appliance. So set aside the oven racks, pans, and other items right from the get-go. Do not rush to clean the oven as soon as it is emptied. Let it cool down for some time. It will make sure you avoid burning yourself while scrubbing.

Home cleaning service experts also recommend you wipe off the oven gently before delving into the deep cleaning. This will remove any bits of burned food from the oven’s base along with dirt.

3. Make Your Own Cleaning Paste

There is no shortage of cleaning products. The market is virtually peppered with them right, left, and center. However, you are better off opting for a homemade cleaning paste that has been a tried-and-true method to clean the oven over the years. Do not assume making this paste is a tough nut to crack.

You just need a small bowl to blend baking soda, liquid dishwater, coarse salt, and a few tablespoons of water. You can adjust the amount of each ingredient until you get a spreadable paste. Once prepared, spread the paste on the oven's interior, excluding the heating elements.

Seasoned home cleaning service companies instruct their cleaners to use the sponge. It is because the sponge will make it easier for you to access the hard-to-reach areas. Also, you should not forget to wear gloves as they can keep grimes getting into nails. As you rub the baking soda, it will become brownish. It might also be a bit chunkier in certain places than others. Fret not, this is perfectly normal. You should try to cover the entire oven as best you can, paying particular attention to any greasy areas.

4. Let It Sit Overnight

Typically, homeowners rinse off the paste shortly after applying. This is not the right approach. For 12-24 hours, you must leave a layer of the paste on the oven's surface. You can then scrub it off by soaking it in water. The baking soda will eventually loosen the particles, making it easier to clean up. You should also implement a similar strategy to clean racks and doors from the inside.
